Women-Owned Businesses in Ocean Pines, MD

Worcester County, Maryland is full of businesses of all kinds with plenty of opportunities for growth. These three women-owned businesses are products of passion and hard work that were worth sharing with their community. Whether filling a need for local businesses, creating jobs for those with disabilities, or cultivating a community with similar fitness goals, Ocean Pines thrives with Shore Thing Promotional Products, Gifts Fulfilled, and CrossFit OC!

Shore Thing Promotional Products – Bianca Deacon

Shore Thing Promotional Products was opened in December 2021 by Bianca Deacon, filling the need that she saw so many businesses could benefit from in Worcester County. Bianca moved from Baltimore to Ocean Pines in 1995 where she began working at Chauncey’s surf shop as a summer job. She continued to learn valuable skills in her time there through 2021 including product procurement, managing a business, sales, and most importantly—customer service.

Although there is an abundance of online and national promotional product companies, Bianca wanted businesses of all sizes to have a local company that they know and trust. “If you call, text, or email me, I get back to you as soon as possible, and I work to get the best pricing, products, art, and decoration that I can.” Bianca says, “If there is an issue with a product, my clients know they can contact me and I will work relentlessly to get it taken care of.”

No task is too big or too small. From restaurants to contractors, real estate agents, and service companies, Shore Thing Promotional Products can do it all. Choose local when looking to create long-lasting relationships with your clients through the power of promotional products.

Gifts Fulfilled – Kim Shanahan

Gifts Fulfilled provides beautiful gift baskets and care packages of all kinds for stress-free gifting on any occasion! They are the perfect spot to look for holiday shopping as well as Ocean City-themed baskets, and custom gifts. Kim Shanahan, the founder of Gifts Fulfilled opened the online business having experience in the gift industry in 2018, for flexibility as a military spouse, and with an important mission to create jobs for people with disabilities.

Each member of the Gifts Fulfilled team works hard to provide the perfect gifts to send the right message that the client is looking to convey. Custom design services and themes for comfort, joy, entertainment, and gratitude are popularly requested. “At Gifts Fulfilled we make every gift like it’s for a member of our family.” Kim says, “We take that responsibility very seriously.”

On top of its unique and fulfilling mission, Gifts Fulfilled is a woman-owned small business-certified organization located locally in Ocean Pines with an online presence capable of shipping to all 50 states.

CrossFit Ocean City – Greta Chapman

CrossFit Ocean City was one of the first CrossFit gyms opened in the world and was the first in Maryland and Delaware. The gym was founded in 2006 where Greta Chapman became a member in 2011 and a trainer in 2013. She purchased the gym in 2015 and is now the owner, a CrossFit Level 2 trainer, and a CrossFit kid’s coach. The gym is a welcoming space open to all people ages 14 and beyond who want to better their health and reach fitness goals.

CrossFit OC provides a variety of coach-led classes, private training, nutrition coaching, and more. The member community is tight-knit and they love having fun while seeing results. Before owning the gym, Greta was a financial analyst for a defense contractor and now loves the more active and social pace of her job. Greta says, “I know every member, we are friends, we hang out together, and laugh a lot during classes. It is more social than work sometimes.”

The team of knowledgeable coaches and friends working out together brings a fun atmosphere to keep members motivated while performing workouts that help them reach their health goals. Visitors are also welcome for a free session and drop-in workouts!
