The Eastern Shore of Maryland as a whole is a great place to live for families, couples, young adults, retirees, everyone! Worcester County, however, has a special place in our hearts and the hearts of everyone who’s been here.

With major tourist destinations like Ocean City, MD, Assateague Island, and the Pocomoke River, Route 50, the road leading to these locations has eight million visitors passing through each year.

The county borders the entire length of where the state of Maryland meets the Atlantic Ocean. Other bodies of water include Assawoman Bay, Isle of Wight Bay, Sinepuxent Bay, and Chincoteague Bay.

Worcester County public schools have been awarded the National Blue Ribbon School Award by the U.S Department of Education. This award signifies overall academic excellence, achievement, and progress closing the achievement gap among student populations.

Three higher learning institutions including two University System of Maryland schools are located within 20 miles of the county. The schools are Salisbury University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and Wor-Wic Community College.

As a federally designated SBA HUBZone, businesses have an advantage when contracting with the government. Enterprise zones are in three municipalities impacting real property tax, income tax, and job creation tax credits.

Worcester County is in a prime location in proximity to major markets.
