Pocomoke Community Center, Pocomoke City

The Pocomoke Community Center is one of Pocomoke City’s most distinctive and versatile event venues, blending a rich history of public service with modern amenities designed for today’s gatherings. Located at 1410 Market Street, the building serves as the home of the Pocomoke City Volunteer Fire Company. As the fire department expanded in 2015, the former firehouse was thoughtfully reimagined into a community-centered space that continues to serve residents in a new and meaningful way.

Today, the Pocomoke Community Center offers more than 11,000 square feet of flexible event space, making it an ideal location for weddings, receptions, reunions, corporate meetings, trainings, banquets, fundraisers, and community celebrations. The centerpiece of the facility is the expansive Grand Ballroom, a 7,500-square-foot space capable of hosting up to 400 guests for banquet-style events. For mid-sized gatherings, the ballroom can also be divided into two separate rooms, each accommodating up to 200 guests while still providing ample room for dining, dancing, or presentations.

In addition to the ballroom spaces, the Community Center features several smaller areas that add versatility to the venue. The Gathering Space offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with elegant furnishings, a fireplace, and a grand piano, making it well suited for cocktail hours, smaller receptions, or informal gatherings. The Maryland Room provides a more intimate setting with seating for up to 40 guests and is ideal for meetings, breakout sessions, or private celebrations.

Beyond its size and adaptability, the Pocomoke Community Center is equipped with amenities designed to support seamless events. The facility includes commercial and caterer’s kitchens, tables and chairs as part of the rental, and state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems. Wireless internet, microphones, podiums, and multimedia capabilities are available in the ballroom spaces, allowing the venue to easily accommodate presentations, entertainment, and ceremonies. A special feature is the availability of a rental room, complete with coordinating décor, table linens, and chair covers. Bar services with certified bartenders are also available with proper permitting, and in-house catering is offered by the men and women of the Fire Company Auxiliary, with approved outside caterers welcomed as well.

Booking the Pocomoke Community Center is a straightforward and personalized process. Interested individuals or organizations are encouraged to contact the center director directly to inquire about availability, rental rates, and setup options. The Center Director works closely with event organizers to assist with planning details, room configurations, and coordination of services to ensure each event is successful.
