Snow Hill native Lorissa McCallister treasured fond memories of visiting a Barnes & Noble cafe with her mom to indulge their love of reading and coffee. After graduating from Salisbury University with her degree in Conflict Analysis & Dispute Resolution, she was introduced to the town’s Main Street director and discovered the resources available for budding entrepreneurs. Thanks to a $30,000 VLT business loan, Lori acquired the working capital and equipment needed to open The Daily Brew Coffeehouse (DBC), Snow Hill’s only coffee shop. Frequented by locals and visitors with business at the adjacent county administration building, DBC’s become a favorite spot for coffee and connecting over a light meal, good book or sweet treat.
