Founded in 1980, Coastal Hospice was established to bring high-quality, patient-centered hospice care to the local community. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services to meet the growing needs of patients and families, always staying true to its mission of providing medical, emotional, and spiritual support. Today, Coastal Hospice continues to be a trusted provider of end-of-life care, offering a range of programs that emphasize quality of life.

Services Offered by Coastal Hospice

Coastal Hospice provides a variety of essential services designed to support patients and their loved ones, including:

  • Home Hospice Care:  Compassionate care wherever you call home, skilled nursing facility, or an assisted living community,
  • Inpatient Care: Compassionate care in facilities or at the dedicated Macky & Pam Stansell House and Coastal Hospice at the Lake residential hospice.
  • Palliative Care: Community-based medical program helping meet the needs of patients with serious illnesses while they continue to receive curative treatments, testing, medications, and other therapies.
  • Grief Support: Our qualified bereavement counselors can help you navigate the grieving process.
  • Veteran Support Programs: Tailored hospice care for veterans, recognizing their unique experiences and needs.
  • Spiritual Care: Spiritual Counselors work with patients and their loved ones to address goals that are important to the patient and that will aid them in achieving emotional and spiritual peace.
  • Pediatric Hospice: Specialized care for children with life-limiting illnesses.

Ways to Donate & Get Involved

On behalf of all our patients and their families – thank you for your support and generosity. Since Coastal Hospice is a not-for-profit agency, our patients’ needs always come first, regardless of the ability to pay. It’s because of you that we are able to continue to promote dignity and quality of life for patients and families who face life-limiting conditions. There are several ways you can contribute:

  • Donate: Gifts of any size help provide charity care to those in need.
  • Volunteer: Whether assisting with patient care, administrative tasks, or community outreach, volunteers are a crucial part of the organization.
  • Planned Giving: Legacy donations ensure that Coastal Hospice can serve future generations.
  • Fundraising Events: Participate in local events that support hospice programs by attending or sponsoring.

The Coastal Hospice Thrift Shop

One of the unique ways to support Coastal Hospice is by shopping or donating to the Coastal Hospice Thrift Shop. Located in Berlin, Maryland, the thrift shop provides a wonderful opportunity to find quality secondhand items while supporting hospice care services. Proceeds from sales go directly toward funding Coastal Hospice programs.

Thrift Shop Hours:

  • Monday – Saturday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
  • Sunday: Closed
