August of 2021 is a busy month for Worcester County and we’re excited for all of the upcoming local events! The events are great for the county as a whole, bringing business and recognition to our awesome small towns.
The fun never stops with annual festivities like the White Marlin Open, the Great Pocomoke Fair, and the Berlin Peach Festival! There’s something for everyone to enjoy and you don’t want to miss it. Which ones will you attend?
Local Worcester County Events
White Marlin Open & Marlin Fest
For regular visitors of OCMD, the White Marlin Open needs no introduction. The world’s largest and richest billfish tournament has been hosted in Ocean City, Maryland (AKA the White Marlin Capital of the World), for 47 years. This year, WMO presents Marlin Fest, a new way for spectators to enjoy live music, food, drinks and watch real-time live streams of the tournament weigh-ins taking place at Harbour Island. White Marlin Open and Marlin Fest takes place August 2-6.
The Great Pocomoke Fair
The Great Pocomoke Fair has something for everyone! Check out the list of events here. Watch entertainment like the famous tractor pulls, hobby horse races, and demolition derby. Sign up for the Junior Miss and Little Miss pageants! Participate in raffles, silent auctions, visit the livestock, and so much more. The Great Pocomoke Fair has main events from August 5-7.
Berlin Peach Festival
It’s not summer without the Peach Festival in Berlin! Shop for Fresh peaches for sale at the Taylor House Museum and check out the shops and restaurants offering peachy specials. Enjoy live music and fun festivities with the community. The Peach Festival will take place on August 7 from 10 AM to 3 PM.
