The beautiful historic home at Windmill Creek is the heart and soul of the Mariner family’s legacy. Serving as both inspiration for the vineyard and as the winery’s tasting room, it’s filled with photos and artifacts from the six generations who have called Windmill Creek home. Motivated by their daughter Brittany’s viticulture studies, Jeannie and Barry decided to harness the family’s wine making hobby and convert 12 acres of the property into a year-round destination.
After renovating the farm house and planting 2,500 vines, Windmill Creek became Worcester County’s second winery when they opened in 2017. Today, this family-run business attracts up to 1,000 visitors weekly to the tasting room and special events and produces almost 30,000 bottles of red and white varietals. Future plans call for planting Chambourcin grapes next to their Grüner Veltliner vines and expanding visitor amenities and event areas.
